Virtual Desktop Infrastructure is an emerging computing model. With it, a Windows client runs as a server-based virtual machine. Users connect via a client device such as a PC or a thin client. App-V is a deployment model with application streaming, which eliminates the need to have applications locally installed. By combining App-V with VDI, an authorized user can now access a personal or shared desktop on demand from almost any device. This session presents a technical introduction of this solution, how it works, and what it won’t do. In it, you’ll examine key architectural components of an App-V/VDI solution while walking through user scenarios with technical demos.
