Level: Intermediate
In this course, you won't be disappointed. Join Jeremy Moskowitz, Group Policy MVP and founder of GPanswers.com to learn the ropes of Group Policy -- for beginners, intermediates and more advanced students. This is an "all levels" course with something for everyone.
One day isn't enough to cover 100% of what you can do with Group Policy. Heck, Jeremy normally teaches a whopping week-long, hands-on, intensive course! But Jeremy promises to jam in 80 pounds of useful knowledge into this double-session's 60 pound bag.
You will learn:
- Why Group Policy applies differently between XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8
- How, when and why to use the Group Policy Preferences and why they're different than the "original Group Policy stuff"
- Security tips and tricks for desktops, Terminal Services and your other servers as well
Prerequisites: You should be familiar with general Active Directory concepts, including Active Directory Users and Computers, the GPMC (a little helps), and the concepts of sites, domains, OUs, users, computers, and groups. If you move users into groups using Active Directory Users and Computers and/or create and link a GPO, you're a good candidate for this course. Please: No audio or video recording allowed during this special one-day session.
Note: Subject matter may change somewhat depending on timing constraints.
This is a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) Hands-On Lab (HOL) class. The instructor will provide hands-on experiences during class, which you will accomplish on your laptop. Power will be available in the room. Your laptop should be prepared with a Windows 7 or later operating system and the prerequisites outlined in the document below.
