TechMentor 2-Day Training Seminar: Seamless Migration to Azure Virtual Desktop
October 3-4, 2024
9:00AM – 4:00PM (Central)
Level: Intermediate
Attend: In-person at Roam Grandscape, The Colony, TX OR Virtually

The shift towards cloud-based solutions is inevitable in the rapidly evolving landscape of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). This two-day workshop is designed for IT professionals who aim to transition from Citrix or VMWare Virtual Desktops to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the migration process, best practices, and the tools necessary to execute a smooth transition.

The workshop will kick off with an exploration of the core concepts of AVD, highlighting its advantages over traditional on-premises VDI solutions. Participants will learn why AVD is not just a trend but a strategic move that offers scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. We will delve into the architecture of AVD, compare it with existing Citrix and VMWare setups, and discuss how to plan for a seamless migration.

Day one will focus on pre-migration strategies, including assessing current VDI environments, understanding dependencies, and preparing the Azure environment for migration. The hands-on sessions will guide you through setting up a pilot deployment, ensuring you have the confidence to manage and troubleshoot the initial setup.

Day two will be dedicated to the actual migration process. You will engage in real-world scenarios, employing migration tools and techniques to transfer existing workloads to AVD. By the end of the workshop, you will be equipped with the knowledge to optimize, maintain, and monitor your new AVD environment, ensuring a robust and user-friendly VDI experience.

Join us to empower your organization with Azure Virtual Desktop's cutting-edge capabilities and take the first step towards a future-proof VDI solution.
