Windows 2000 extended support has ended. Ultimately this means it is time to migrate to a newer flavor of Windows. If you haven’t considered this before, you may not want to just upgrade or migrate. You may want to completely restructure your AD in the process. There are free tools (like the Active Directory Migration Tool or ADMT) and there are tools that come with a hefty price-tag (like Quest’s Migration Manager for Active Directory) with a variety of others in-between. Ultimately the more you pay, the less manual labor and stress upon your shoulders. But budgets are tight and you may not be able to remove that stress with copious cash. In this session we will talk you through the tools available and the price-tag/feature-set tug-of-war that must be had before making a final decision on which is best for your environment.
