Level: Introductory Intermediate
Any busy SharePoint administrator knows the many SQL Server databases that underlie their company's intranet or extranet portal requires "care and feeding." The question is, who the heck is doing that 'care and feeding'?! This three-hour session gives Windows administrators with limited SQL Server experiences all the tools, best practice guidance, and tips/tricks to ensure that SQL Server purrs like a proverbial kitten.
You will learn:
- The major performance bottlenecks between SQL Server and SharePoint Server
- Create and manage SQL Server maintenance tasks
- How to run SQL Server Profiler and Performance Monitor and correctly diagnose and correct database performance problems
- How to hit the ground running by applying T-SQL and Windows PowerShell scripts to SharePoint databases to provide a level of administrative automation and remediation (think of backups, index operations, and so forth)
