Level: Introductory
It seems like every three to five years you need to re-learn everything you’ve known about IT. It also seems like this is one of those times for Active Directory. Just when we thought we were making progress with multi-master domain controllers, Microsoft introduces Read-Only Domain Controllers (RODC) for branch offices. This session will show how to configure and install RODCs, as well as understanding when you don’t need to. Then, we will walk through the critical RODC administration steps that you must know if a security breach occurs in a remote office. Finally, we will turn our focus to the enterprise features of AD by reviewing the benefits of restart-able AD Services, AD Federation Servers, and Certificate Services for Windows 2008.
