The Windows Subsystem for Linux doesn't just allow you to run a Bash Shell on Windows 10. Instead Windows Subsystem for Linux gives you access to all of your favorite open source tools alongside all of your favorite Windows toolkit without running a VM. In this session primarily aimed at those who come from the Windows world, you'll learn how to configure and deploy Ubuntu on Windows, how to keep your Ubuntu environment up to date, how to find and install additional software, how to get graphical applications running locally in X-Windows, how to interact with your Windows environment and how to quickly deploy your Windows/Ubuntu settings and environment to other computers. You'll also learn how to use the Windows Store to deploy other distributions and run them alongside Ubuntu on WSL including Fedora and SUSE.
