Every time we talk about hybrid identity in the Microsoft ecosystem, one of the first things that comes to mind is Azure AD. But more often than not, we don't give enough credit to the Azure AD Connect tool that makes this whole thing possible in the first place. Having a thorough understanding of this tool is crucial to designing an efficient hybrid identity architecture.
This session will dive deep into the AD Connect tool and show you how to install it, deployment recommendations, how it works, filtering, password synchronization and write back, device write back, prevent accidental deletes, implementing ADFS, and monitoring the health of your synchronization using the AD Connect Health. You'll also learn how to upgrade from an existing deprecated tool such as Azure AD Sync or DirSync.
You'll learn how to upgrade from an old unsupported tool to Azure AD Connect, and configure it exactly the way that suits your organization's identity topology. This will be a demo heavy session that you can follow along if you have an Azure subscription and a laptop.
You will learn:
- About the tool, its deployment, and various configuration options
- How to use AD FS with AAD Connect tool for identity federation
- How to monitor your synchronization infrastructure using AD Connect Health
