ABM Industries
Years ago, ABM Industries turned to VMware to virtualize all of its physical servers, saving the global facilities solution provider millions of dollars in hardware and operational costs. Hyper-V was only in beta at the time and even years later when it was released, it wasn't deemed suitable for ABM's infrastructure even though it was bundled free with Windows Server. But with last year's release of the latest version of Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 R2, ABM took another look and discovered switching from VMware to Hyper-V was not only feasible, but it could again reduce costs. Hear Andre Garcia, Assistant Vice President of Global Infrastructure Services at ABM, explain how his IT organization came to that conclusion and made the switch.
