Troubleshooting Windows performance issues starts with leveraging built-in monitoring tools. Learn how to investigate real-time performance issues with the new Windows Server 2012 Task Manager, the Resource Monitor and the Performance Monitor (Perfmon). Understand how to configure Perfmon data collector sets to capture pertinent performance data for analysis. Then bring out the big guns with PAL (Performance Analysis of Logs) for analyzing Perfmon data and identifying alerts that trigger pre-defined thresholds. Understand how to interpret PAL reports to identify where CPU, memory or I/O bottlenecks exist and what the recommended action is. (Exam 70-411, Administering Windows Server 2012)

You will learn:

  • The fundamentals of monitoring and tuning
  • How to use real-time monitoring tools (Task Manager, Resource Monitor and Performance Monitor)
  • How to leverage PAL for analyzing Perfmon data
