Level: Introductory Intermediate
Lots of Windows systems administrators wonder (and worry) what the Windows Server 2016 Nano installation option means for them in terms of impact and learning curve. We'll spend time assessing where Nano is as of March 2016 and actually build one or more Nano servers to play with. You’ll learn to understand the crucial importance of containerization.
You will learn:
- How Nano fits into Microsoft's "Cloud OS" vision, the role Windows PowerShell plays in this scheme, and the importance of application containers
- How to install one or more Nano servers in a test lab environment, preferably as VMs
- Demonstrate Nano remote management by using PowerShell WS-Man remoting and (potentially) the Azure Stack Web portal
