While virtualization helps reduce server costs, you still need storage for your VMs. Windows Server 2012 R2 and upcoming 2016 have great features that can help you replace your traditional SAN. By using Windows to replace your SAN, you can reduce storage costs, as well as management costs and complexity. You can accomplish all this without sacrificing capabilities, and in some cases have more features than your SAN has today. This session will review real world production configurations and customer use cases.

You will learn:

  • Simplicity of using Windows as your SAN
  • SMB3 and RDMA basics, ease of management
  • Clustered Storage spaces can work in SMB to Enterprise environments
