The Windows Subsystem for Linux doesn't just let you run a Bash Shell on Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016. Instead, Windows Subsystem for Linux gives you access to all of your favorite open source tools along with all of your favorite Windows toolkit without running a VM. This session is primarily aimed at those who come from the Windows world. You'll learn how to configure and deploy Ubuntu and SuSE on Windows, how to keep your Linux environment up to date, how to find and install additional software, how to get graphical applications running locally in X-Windows, how to interact with your Windows environment and how to quickly deploy your Windows/Ubuntu settings and environment to other computers. You'll also learn how to use the Windows Store to deploy other distributions and run them side by side on the same server.
